Dr. Romero is the Co-CEO and Co-Founder of Reliance Medical Centers, and he serves as the Chief Medical Officer at Reliance. Reliance began as Romero Medical Plaza, where Dr. Romero was dedicated to meeting the health and wellness needs of adults 65+. Dr. Romero’s passion for serving others and always going the extra mile to provide his patients with the quality healthcare they deserve, as well as the increase of patients who loved the friendly, warm care given to them by Dr. Romero, led to the expansion and transformation of Romero Medical Plaza to Reliance Medical Centers.
As Co-CEO and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Romero oversees the care coordination of all physicians at Reliance. He is a fiercely compassionate leader who enjoys working hands-on with all Reliance employees to ensure Reliance is delivering on their promise to always put patients first. He has implemented a number of unique health and wellness services at Reliance, including the Wellness Club, Wellbeing Advisors, Clinical Pharmacist and more.
Dr. Romero is privileged to touch the life of every Reliance patient as the Chief Medical Officer. His knowledge and oversight guide the physicians and medical staff each day to ensure Reliance stays true to their word: This is what healthcare should be.
Dr. Martita Marcano

Dr. Martita Marcano joins Reliance as a board-certified Internal Medicine Physician with over 8 years of experience in a primary healthcare setting. She specializes in caring for patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and thyroid disease. Dr. Marcano focuses on delivering her patients quality preventative care as opposed to the traditional remedial care to prevent health issues before they begin.
Dr. Miroslav Brzobohaty

Dr. Miroslav Brzobohaty joins Reliance as a Primary Care Physician. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Dr. Brzobohaty is an osteopathic doctor who is dedicated to providing his patients with complete care to help prevent and treat illnesses. In addition to being a physician in California and Miami, Dr. Brzobohaty served as an Anatomy Instructor at Florida Atlantic University.

Dr. Gonzalez has over fifteen years of experience in the medical field and is committed to providing excellent care to her patients. She has experience as both a primary care and emergency care physician and employs preventive healthcare practices to help her patients get healthy and stay well.
Dr. Andrew Barnes

Dr. Andrew Barnes joins Reliance as a Primary Care Physician. Dr. Barnes is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University and is a board-certified Internal Medicine Physician with additional training in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. He is excited to bring his Osteopathic Manipulative training to a Primary Care setting in order to provide his patients with wrap-around, whole body care. When he is not helping patients achieve a complete sense of wellbeing, Dr. Barnes enjoys weight lifting, playing the piano and running.
Dr. Aryn H. Bush

As part of our ground-breaking collaboration with the University of South Florida, Dr. Bush works closely with seniors to help them take control of their cognitive health. By creating a relationship built on trust and respect, Dr. Bush focuses on taking care of the health of the whole person. We look forward to continuing to grow in our partnership with USF through our Brain Health & Cognition Program.
Dr. Adriana Hughes
Clinical Pharmacist
Dr. Adriana Hughes is a Clinical Pharmacist who has a passion for helping patients achieve optimal health with a whole-patient, holistic based approach to care. Dr. Hughes is also a licensed Consultant Pharmacist, providing expert advice on use of medications in seniors, and is certified in Medication Therapy Management. She has clinical experience in a variety of settings, including hospital, community, ambulatory care pharmacy and teaching, and she is a graduate of the USF Heath College of Pharmacy.
Amanda Burns, APRN

Amanda Burns, APRN has over 16 years in the medical field. Before becoming a nurse, Amanda served 15 years in the military with 8 years as an active duty Air Force Public Health Technician/Medic and 7 years in the Air Force Reserves as a Health Services Manager. Before joining Reliance, she worked as a nurse in the Cardiac Interventional Unit and as an Operating Room Circulating nurse, as well as spending time serving as an Assisted Living Facility Executive Director and Health and Wellness Director. She enjoys serving her patients as part of a Care Focus Team in order to deliver them first class, wrap-around healthcare services.
Kathryn Lay, APRN

Kathryn Lay joins Reliance as an APRN. A University of South Florida graduate with a Master’s degree in nursing, Kathryn has experience in Primary Care and oncology. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Oncology Nursing Society. Kathryn was awarded the Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses and is proud to provide patients with wrap-around, elevated healthcare at Reliance.

Sandra Collier, APRN has been a nurse for 30 years. During this time she has worked in different healthcare settings and provided care for patients in all stages of life. In 2019, Sandra received the Nurse of Excellence Award from Bartow Regional Hospital. Sandra is honored to be a member of a Care Focus Team that provides full service healthcare to Polk County seniors.
Baynazir Kabir, APRN

Baynazir Kabir joins Reliance as an APRN with more than 10 years of experience in healthcare. A graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in Health Science, and the University of South Florida with both an undergraduate and Masters degree in Nursing and Adult-Gerontology Primary Care, Baynazir is ready to apply her skills as a part of a Care Focus Team delivering elevated care to Reliance patients.
Kristen Tolley, APRN

Kristen Tolley graduated from the University of South Florida with a psychology degree. She later went on to complete her BSN at South University and worked as an emergency room and labor & delivery registered nurse for 6 years. Kristen then completed her MSN as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of South Florida.
She has a special interest in women’s healthcare and chronic disease management. She has been with Reliance for over two years and currently lives in Lakeland with her husband and their son and daughter. Her hobbies include RV camping with her family and is a big fan of the Tampa Bay Bucs, Tampa Bay Rays and all USF sports after playing softball for them during her time in college.
Nikki Beales, APRN

Nikki Beales joins Reliance as an APRN. A graduate of Florida Southern College with a Master degree in Family Nurse Practitioner, Nikki has experience in both primary care settings and emergency care. Prior to joining Reliance, she served as the education director for Lake Wales Medical Center. Nikki brings all her patients elevated healthcare as a member of their Care Focus Team and demonstrates what healthcare should be.

Tabitha Kuhn, LCSW

Having joined Reliance Medical Centers in 2021, Tabitha Kuhn brings over 15 years of experience in the field of Mental Health and has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2015. She has worked with a diverse population in a variety of settings, ranging from long term care to short term interactions and interventions. Tabitha provides her patients with a proven therapeutic approach that is tailored to meet the needs of each individual, with a unique focus on senior adults. Tabitha’s warmth, expertise and compassion make her an excellent addition to the Reliance family of medical professionals.
Penne Williams, LCSW

Penne Williams received her BSSW from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and her MSW from Florida State University. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 1989, Penne has experience in a variety of healthcare settings such as hospitals, home health and psychiatric day treatment. She believes that if people are given the tools to improve their mental and physical wellbeing, they will utilize them for self-improvement. Penne specializes in working with an older population and provides all her patients with warmth, compassion and therapeutic techniques designed to empower them.
